A Wide Range of Test Equipment
Instrumentation, test equipment, smoke alarms and carbon monoxide (CO) alarms are very important, and could save lives.
1.5 million (approximately) boilers are installed every year in the UK, and the vast majority are completely safe and effective. However, a small fraction of these may have problems, which could be dangerous for the public.
Tragically around 50 people a year die from accidental CO poisoning in England and Wales – with around 4,000 admitted to hospital with symptoms, according to the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
Carbon Monoxide is so dangerous because it’s a silent killer. You can’t see, taste or smell it and symptoms like headaches, nausea and dizziness can be confused with the flu.
The best way for people to know if there are dangerous levels of CO in a property is with an audible carbon monoxide alarm, which can easily be fitted next to the smoke alarms that we’re used to seeing in a property.
For installers, instrumentation is now a legal requirement. From April 2014, they’re required to use a flue gas analyser, (also known as electronic combustion analysers) to measure the combustion ratio and the level of carbon monoxide (CO) every time they commission a boiler, and record the results.
Parts Center has a wide selection of test equipment, alarms and measuring instruments, including gas detectors, anemometers, manometers and carbon monoxide detectors, so installers can be assured every heating system they work with is safe and working efficiently.
